On March 1, 2013, I hosted a Wheatpaste Workshop for Department of Art students at The University of Texas at El Paso to learn the street art technique of wheat pasting. For the workshop, I designed a large-scale typographical image Viva Downtown El Paso.
The workshop wheat pasted the design over two, 4' x 8' plywood panels.
These panels were then pieced side by side and installed upon the chain link fence on the 600 block of North Oregon Street in downtown El Paso, around the future site of Artspace El Paso Lofts. When completed in 2015, Artspace will blend 51 affordable live/work units for artists and their families with 7,500 square feet of multi-purpose nonprofit space.
