The Wiley Student Advertising Design Challenge

In the Fall of 2009, I again had my Graphic Design 4: Typography class do a “real world” project. Under my supervision, they entered the National Wiley Student Cover Design Challenge. Author Robin Landa’s book Advertising by Design: Generating and Designing Creative Ideas Across Media

was going into a new 2nd edition, and its publisher John Wiley & Sons, Inc. opened up its cover design to students nationwide. A panel of judges picked the First, Second, and Third Prize winners. My student Angel Guzman’s design won First prize receiving $500 plus use of his design on the cover.
