Villagrán Research Group

We are a research group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Texas at El Paso. Our lab explores physical, inorganic and computational chemistry. We use multiple-bonded bimetallic systems to study multi-electron redox chemistry for the activation of small molecules of energy and environmental importance. We are interested in the use of these systems for the study of electron transfer reactions through covalent or hydrogen-bond pathways. We utilize several spectroscopical and electrochemical methods as well as high-level computational algorithms.
