Making Your Degree Affordable

April 30th, 2008

Stories of economic woes fill the news, but UTEP is finding many ways to ensure that a college degree stays affordable.

    •    Fill out the FAFSA – Your first step is always to complete the Federal Application for Student Aid, or FAFSA. This form gets the ball rolling and helps you learn about your eligibility for various types of financial aid. Financial aid counselors are available to help you and your family complete the FAFSA. Visit the UTEP Financial Aid home page for an overview of services.

    •    The UTEP PromiseThe UTEP Promise covers all tuition and fees for first-time freshmen with family incomes of $30,000 or less and doesn’t require repayment.

    •    Guaranteed Tuition Plan – The Guaranteed Tuition plan locks in a tuition rate and mandatory fees for up to four years. Learn more on the UTEP Guaranteed Tuition Plan page.

    •    Easy Pay PlanThe UTEP Easy Pay Plan allows you to divide your tuition into smaller equal payments and avoid that big up-front expense. This plan is also available during the summer.

    •    Scholarships – UTEP students earned more than $8 million in scholarships last year. The UTEP Office of Scholarships helps match you with free dollars for school.  Find a scholarship that’s perfect for you in the Scholarship Opportunity Bulletin.

Learn more about all of UTEP’s financial plans and options by visiting the UTEP Financial Aid Office  or the UTEP Paying for College webpage
