Listening to the radio and watching television programs have always been part of our daily lives. We forget about the benefits that exercising regularly would bring to us and spent most of the time in hobbies that do not benefit our health. Exercise should also be taken as part of our daily routines because it benefits every aspect of our lives in positive ways. People that exercise regularly live a healthier life and have less risks of having a heart attack. At the same time young people that exercise frequently have better grades than students who don't. More over, a person that lifts weights or plays sports is able to live a more successful life. Exercising every day is something that all people should do since it keeps our body in healthy shape and the risk of experiencing a heart attack is reduced.
When a person exercises regularly their health is in excellent conditions because their stress and anger that most people experience is released. For example, I am a person that goes to college and works at the same time every day. This situation creates a considerable amount of stress on my body, and the best way in which I can reduce this is by lifting weights and playing soccer with my friends every other day. When I lift weights I get stronger and physically fit, but the most important thing is that I get tired. My fatigue in turn does not let me get tensed or angry because the only thing I can think about at the end of the day after I have exercised is resting, relaxing, and sleeping. You may be asking yourself, what does stress and anger have to do with our health that is so important in reducing our anger and stress by exercising?
Well, the answer is pretty simple. According to "Anger a 'toxic' emotion", which is a Muscle & Fitness article from 1995, anger reduces the efficiency with which the automatic nervous system works. The automatic nervous system controls various functions of your digestive system and other organs such as the heart. So when anger affects the automatic nervous system ulcers start to grow in your stomach and abnormal electrical activity and heartbeats are induced to your heart, increasing the risk of a heart attack (pg. 83). Exercising regularly does not only helps us keep our bodies healthy, but it also helps young people to get better grades.
According to Mr. Bonds, an excellent health teacher from Fabens High School, students of all ages that play sports or do any other kind of exercising activity, get better grades than the students who don't. Mr. Bonds made a small investigation in Fabens High School to prove that students that play sports get better grades. This health teacher compared the grades of the students that play sports with the grades of the students that are not involved in athletic activities, and found that 70% of 300 students who play sports had better grades than the students who were not athletes. Mr. Bonds also read a newspaper article to his classes that supported his theory. Unfortunately I wasn't able to find that article, but I do remember Mr. Bond's explanation of how is it that students that play sports get better grades than students who do not exercise.
Mr. Bonds stated that students who exercise regularly or play sports usually get better grades than students that do not because athletic students are more relaxed and optimistic. And I can tell you that this is true because ever since I started to lift weights and play soccer in 10th grade my grade point average has always been a 3.0. Exercising every day along with hard studying have allowed me do my college homework in an easy and efficient way. For example, every time I have a final exam I feel prepared and sure about myself because exercising has given me an excellent security and self-esteem that lets me pass my classes with good grades. Exercising not only allows you to make better grades at school, but it also helps you to start a successful and happy life.
Exercising frequently lets you live a successful and happy life; therefore, all people should start to work out their bodies physically as a daily routine. When a person exercises, their personality changes in positive ways because the person that exercises often has a strong and shaped body that allows this athletic person have a high self-esteem. This high self-esteem, in turn, lets people live a successful life every day. For example, most of my friends are very athletic people that are very happy and optimistic. Valerie, who is one of my friends, has a beautiful and healthy body because she takes care of her body by lifting weights. But the most important thing about her is that she is a very successful person due to her security that exercising has build in her. My friend has excellent grades in college, and has a great job working as a personal weight lifting trainer at a YMCA institution. No matter how you see it, exercising regularly will always give you positive rewards that will benefit your life.
Most people that do not exercise say that they do not have time to do it because they spent most of the time working or studying, but the reality is that most people like to spent their leisure time doing things that do not benefit their lives. For instance, my younger brothers prefer to watch cable movies or play Nintendo for long hours than to exercise. They think that just because they are young and healthy, exercising regularly is a waste of time. Or for instance, my cousins, which are much more older than I am, prefer to go out with their girlfriends, have cook outs, and drink beer until their stomach looks like the belly of a fat cow. There is no valid excuse for not exercising, unless, you have a health problem that would not let you walk, run, or swim. Playing sports or doing any other kind of physical activity should be encouraged to all people since it benefits every one.
Exercise benefits young and old people. Persons that exercise regularly
maintain their health in an excellent shape and live a happier life. At
the same time, students that play sports get better grades than students
who don't participate in any recreational activity. Overall, if all people
start to see exercising as part of their daily lives, less health problems
will be experienced by people in the American culture.
