Asakusa

For a glimpse of Tokyo’s past, the Asakusa district is the place to go. Our tour guide, Harumi, and the fmf October group of organizers couldn’t have thought of a better spot to give our group an early introduction to old Tokyo. The many narrow back streets lined with old buildings and shops selling traditional items from kimonos to hand-made combs. The Asakusa-Kannon Temple with its Shinto shrines and the variety of traditional restaurants nearby were all a treat for a first-time visitor to Japan.
