A Thing or Two About Restaurants Around El Paso

I am not going to write about State Line or Cattelman's Stackhouse as they are well known around here.  Recently I went to Ardovino's on Cincinnati Ave (several times), this place has great Italian food.  If you are a vegetarian, this is a place where you can find some food in El Paso.  I also visited Carnita Queretaro on N. Mesa, this is great place if you are a pork lover.  This place is also famous for the mole. They have great Mexican food.  A friend of mine told me that Carnita is a roasted pork and Queretaro is a city in central Mexico.   My next visit will be to J&L coffee on E. Missouri Ave.

Here is a list of places I tried around El Paso and they are really good.

Double Eagle and Peepers restaurant in Las Cruses. This place has great southwestern food, and this is in a very historic building.  If you are lucky, you may see the spirits of Armando and Inez walking around you while you are eating in the Carlotta Salon. We had our dinner but we didn't see them.

Chopes' Bar & Cafe on Hwy 28 is a great place for real Mexican food. Call 233-9976 for reservation. This place is a little far from El Paso, though.
