The following policies apply to all of Dr. Leinberger's classes:
1) After reading the syllabus and before the end of week four, each student should send an e-mail to CHARLESL@UTEP.EDU acknowledging that the syllabus has been read and is understood.
2) Students are required to visit the instructor's office during weeks 5, 10 and 15. Each visit will include a brief update of the student's progress, including attendance, current percentage of points earned and best possible semester grade. In addition, students are encouraged to visit the instructor's office as often as possible.
3) Unexcused absences exceeding 20% (1 out of 5 class meetings) will prevent you from receiving any extra help outside of class and may lower your final grade. If a student arrives to class after attendance has been taken, it is the student's responsibility to notify the instructor of their presence after class.
4) Late assignments may be submitted up to seven calendar days (168 hours) after the original due date for 50% of their original point value. After seven calendar days, late assignments may still be submitted, but for no point value. It is strongly suggested that students keep old assignments and quizzes until after final grades have been submitted. Old assignments, if not picked up by the student in class, will be placed in the tray on the instructor's office door.
5) Cellular telephones and pagers must be turned off or in silent mode during class.
6) Academic dishonesty will not be tolerated. See "Academic Integrity" from the Dean of Students for more information.

The following policies apply to this class:
7) The Midterm Exams will be February 10, and March 23, during class.
8) The Final Exam for a Tuesday (TR) 3:00 PM class is Thursday, May 6, from 1:00 to 3:45 PM. You may not change the day or time of your Final Exam.

All of this information is subject to change.
