What problems did you encounter in organizing and writing your brochure?

The problems that I encountered with organizing my brochure were that I did not know what information to put and I did not know how I was going to put it together. When I was writing my brochure I did not have much trouble except I had to put less information because I could not fit it all. It also took me quite some time to finish my brochure in time, but I managed to finish it. I also did not have the Microsoft Office Publisher program at home so I had to use the library's computers. I did not know what visuals I wanted to use but I managed to find efficient pictures from the web.

What role did the audience play?

The role that my audience played was that they needed to see the facts in order to get convinced that undocumented immigration is a problem. This was mainly addressed to those who discriminate them, the President and UTEP scholars.

How did I select the issue/topic I chose?

I am very interested in Undocumented Immigration and everything else that has to do with the topic because my family was once undocumented. I know that this has become an issue over the past years and others need to be informed about what we can do or how they can legalize the undocumented.    I chose this topic because it connects to my personal life in some way because my parents were once undocumented immigrants. If it was not for them I would have not been here in the United States. Some of my relatives want to immigrate to the United States but since nowadays it is different and hard to get here they have changed their minds. My family once suffered just like the undocumented immigrants living here today. This topic I chose is very important to the community because nowadays more and more undocumented immigrants come to live to the United States.

What was the most challenging part of the project for me?

The most challenging part of the project for me was that I do not have Microsoft Office Publisher in my home computer so I would have to come to the library to work on it and not fall behind. I also had a bit of trouble working the program because I had not used it in quite some time. I could not even remember what the name of the program was. I had trouble putting together because I did not want to overcrowd it or even have just a little bit or information. I also had to rush because I had other things to do for my other classes. It cost a lot of work but in the end it will be worth it and pay off.

What is the most effective aspect of your brochure in terms of presentation or design? Why?

The most effective aspect of my brochure in terms of presentation was that I had a well organized and focused on the topic. This was all because I needed to make the brochure brief and straight to the point or else it would of been boring. The information that is in the brochure is the most effective because it tells us the most important things because without it I could not make my point.

How did you make your design decisions?

I decided to pick a simple design so that it would not look over crowded or confusing. I looked for a template that was simple because the content of the brochure was more important to me. The colors that the template had were blue and a little bit of orange. I used black and white for the class and the one in color is for the professor.
