Market Research Reports
see also the "Industry Information" research guide
under the "Industry Overviews" category
Market
research reports typically include market size, trends, industry forecasts,
price trends, purchasing statistics, profiles of the major competitors, results
of surveys and polls of buyers and sellers, forecasts of future growth, market
share, market segments, import/export trends and related data. The market
research report is designed for businesses that want to enter a new market or
learn about trends in a market they already operate in.
Market research reports are very expensive but
there are cheaper alternatives and methods for finding at least some of this
data. This includes tracking down trade journals and newsletters via traditional
(and less expensive) databases that excerpt from fulltext market research
reports or provide summaries; accessing press releases from the market research
producers themselves, and linking to selected market research publisher's Web
sites.
