Vatican City, October 31, 2000. "Statement on the
So-Called "Morning-After Pill"" Pontifical Academy for Life.
http://www.Vatican.va
This particular article from the Vatican reports that the morning after
pill is indeed a form of abortion. Though it is not restricted by law the
Vatican reports that it is morally wrong. Also that since in many cases the use
of this pill is not referred to as abortion, it is hidden as an act as such. In
the article they believe that the Morning-After Pill is no more than a
chemically caused abortion. The pill makes the uterus wall incapable of
the allowance of implanting the beginning embryo, causing it to be dispelled
from the uterus. This article is suitable to my theme because it represents one
of the several sides taken to each and every aspect of the abortion argument.
April 2009, Vol. 99,
No. 4. American Journal of Public Health.
Bonnie and Tracy speak in this article about the issue for woman in
need of second trimester abortion whom have trouble in the situation due to the
fact that many clinics and practices have lessened the age of the embryo at
which they will provide the service to avoid legal issues and risks. They
describe that many clinics must have specific qualifications in order to perform
these procedures but that the cost and ability to do so is strained. This
information is important to my study as it evaluates the fact that woman who
choose to have the procedure done are still willing to do so in the second
trimester of their pregnancy, which may be cause to even more controversy upon
the subject.
Ed. Wade Clark Roof. Vol. 1. New York: Macmillan
Reference USA, 1999. p1-4g
This particular reference is to do with the many facts about abortion.
Its controversial effects in the public eye, the factual definitions on abortion
and its procedures, and even the moral issues involved with religion and
society's view on the subject today. This information is important for the
simple fact that it is non-bias in the facts about and/or pertaining to abortion
and the issues faced therein. It speaks about the complications of abortion and
even the complications of pregnancy or fetal development that may lead to
abortion. According to Zoloth abortion can be seen in many deferent lights as
there are cases in which it is medically necessary to abort a pregnancy and in
other cases woman feel the need psychologically to terminate their pregnancy.
Human Rights Dynamics of Abortion
Law Reform
Human Rights Quarterly - Volume 25, Number 1, February 2003, pp. 1-59
Cook, Rebecca J. & Dickens, Bernard M.
This document informs that abortion is to be seen as a choice
reproductively by the woman that is involved. That the controversial effects of
public pressure should not interfere with the legal rights as a person the woman
has. This abstract is but an overview of the full text, however inaccessible in
its entirety. From the information available the rights of the woman's choice is
important for the reason that family planning may not have been utilized or
there was lack of planning on the woman's part (such as being victim to rape)
and the pregnancy has sincere effects on the woman's health or overall
well-being. This is another striking importance in the discussion of abortion.
Reproductive Services Professional Services. Retrieved

http://www.reproductiveservices.com/services.html
The information from the Reproductive services website is factual describing the
procedures of abortion included medical and surgical forms. Also informing of
the types of counseling and help a woman can receive depending on her choice
towards abortion or adoption, etc. Aside from medicinal procedures it also
includes pregnancy prevention plans and contraception information and referral.
There is also readily available information on male and female sterilization for
the purpose of pregnancy prevention as well. This is particularly important to
my theme as it will help to show the options made available by those who support
the abortion procedures, and to inform those who do not support the procedures
alike.
Decisional Dignity: Teenage Pregnancy, Bypass
hearings, and the Misuse of Law , Carol Sanger 2009
http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1493768
This article specifically details the issues in today's subject view on
abortion. Explaining how underage woman are able to bypass their parents
in the decision to have an abortion and how by the maturity level of the young
individual may decide how the judge's decision is swayed. I find just the
abstract of this particular article is important to my research because it
illustrates the abilities and choices young woman have in making their decision
to abort or not.
"Thirty four
states now require that a minor who wants an abortion without first involving
her parents must petition a judge and participate in a hearing at which the
judge decides if she is mature and informed enough to make an abortion decision
herself." Says Sanger. Also, it shows that if a young woman is too
ashamed to carry out the pregnancy due to her family or friends that she may be
able to have an abortion and no one would be the wiser. However, this may lead
to adverse effects to her mental health and stability.
