After reading Chapters 7 and 8, use Finale® music notation software (and an approved template such as Finale’s Grand Staff.ftm), write a canon at the octave:
  • Write a two-voice canon at the octave, in a major key, in common time.
  • The leader (treble clef) should be four measures long plus an ending to accommodate the follower.
  • The follower (bass clef) should also be four measures long and begin be one measure behind (and one octave below) the leader.
  • Therefore harmonic rhythm should be in half notes or quarter notes.
