Due September 8Quiz 1 - Syllabus and Class Procedures Bring a copy of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) from your area of teaching. From the TEKS Web site, locate your content area concepts. Select only your content TEKS and copy/paste into a Word document and print them out. Due September 15Discussion - In Blackboard, provide an individual Written Response to the topic; “What is Your Metaphor For Teaching?” Your response (200 words minimum) should should not only identify the metaphor, but offer a detailed explanation. Assignment - Provide a Written Response to the Cultural Portrait activity, in which you provide a narrative on an interview with a person who you believe is culturally different from you. You should present both a portrait of the person you interview as well as identifying the cultural contexts central to their perspective. Also, reflect on why you identified this individual as culturally different from yourself in the first place, and how that was manifested after the interview.
