Gator Camp
Gator Camp is an annual new student over-night event that promotes building leadership and getting involved with the UTEP community. This event required the creation of t-shirts, signage, e-mails, web-banners, name tags, note sheets, and entry tickets.
Fun Fact: The event name was inspired by a prank done by UTEP Students in the 1950s. During this time, San Jacinto Plaza, a nearby landmark, had a pond filled with live alligators, and a couple of fraternity members stole one of the alligators and placed it inside of a professor’s office! In a different year, one was put into the university pool right before an intermural swim meet. As a result of these types of events, the pond and alligators were permanently removed in 1974.
