Economic Census Data

The Economic Censuses are taken from businesses for years ending in 2 and 7. Included are type of industry, number of establishments, employees, payrolls, and sales or shipments for NAICS industries. It is issued for the nation, regions, states, and some counties, metropolitan areas, cities, and zip codes.  

Census Updates

  • Annual Capital Expenditures Survey (by type of industry) 
  • CenStats Databases - Databases currently available include Annual Survey of Manufactures Data, Building Permits Data, Census Tract Street Locator, County Business Patterns Data, International Trade Data, Occupation Data, and USA Counties Data.  
  • County Business Patterns - establishments and payrolls by industry for states and counties   
  • Current Industrial Reports - quantity of production and value of shipments by the manufacturing industry; provide regular updates to the Economic Census.

  • Corporate Library  - Most information is free. Includes firms based in 25 different countries. Provides data on firms and directors who sit on their various boards, updated annually. Special focus on corporate governance and the relationship between company management, their boards and their shareowners. Click on "Governance Research" or "Company Research". 
  • eCompNetwork - Compensation data for executives at U.S. public companies
  • Eliyon Networking  (some info for free) - a database of 16 million profiles of current and past employees at about one million companies located in the U.S. and Canada.
